Every goldeni team member is valued and trusted and plays an important role in delivering our exceptional service. We’d like to introduce you to our leadership team who are responsible for the overall performance and management of the business.

Alan Hayward

Managing Director

As head of the leadership team, Alan is responsible for the business’ overall strategic direction. Since he joined the company in 2017, Alan has been striving to ensure that we maintain a sustainable and innovative business that performs at the highest possible level for both our customers and our stakeholders.

As a specialist in business operations, Alan is dedicated to improving business efficiencies in order to ensure that we can deliver the best customer care. These skills, combined with 30 years of accounting experience allow Alan to pinpoint growth opportunities and develop strategies in order to meet the Board’s ambitious targets.

Alan is passionate about leveraging his unparalleled industry knowledge and wealth of experience in order to help the business take its next steps while maintaining a focus on the customer journey. 

Khalid Nawaz

Finance and Commercial Director

With over 10 years’ experience in senior financial roles in the construction sector, Khalid has brought his financial acumen to the housing sector and transformed our financial systems to provide transparency and insight; driving efficiencies and supporting our clients in the cost-effective maintenance of their assets. 

He has been able to provide our operational and client teams with commercial insight that has driven continuous improvement, whilst retaining a focus on excellent customer satisfaction. 

Paul Reader

Client Director

Having begun his career in construction, Paul has worked across all areas of the housing maintenance sector and has amassed more than 30 years of experience. Responsible for the strategic development of Morgan Sindall Property Services, Paul combines his unrivalled industry knowledge with skills in strategic leadership and relationship building.

During his career, Paul has undertaken study tours of many countries and as far afield as Japan, in order to discover alternative housing maintenance methods and practices. Experiences such as these have made Paul a leader in the field and he regularly contributes to industry publications and gives talks at prestigious conferences around the country.

Paul has a lifelong love of travelling and he has visited a number of far-flung destinations including the Arctic and the Maldives. However, one of his favourite destinations is a little closer to home and he loves making trips to Cornwall.

Phil Copperwheat

Information Systems Director

With more than 25 years of experience in IT, Phil has worked across numerous sectors including media, manufacturing and construction. This multi-sector experience has helped Phil establish a laser focus when it comes to identifying opportunities and developing IT solutions to improve and enhance business efficiencies. 

Originally a software developer, Phil is able to combine his technical skills with his impressive business acumen in order to build successful IT strategies and lead business transformation.

When not in the office, Phil loves to spend time with his family and can often be found pitch-side watching his son play football. He is also an accomplished rower and loves to get out on the water as often as he can.

Natasha Kyriakou

Customer and Communications Director

Natasha originally joined the team in 2015 as Head of Marketing and has since taken on the Customer and Communications Director Role. As well as a wealth of experience in marketing across strategy, public relations, brand development and consumer research, Natasha has also spent more than 15 years working in the housing sector.       

As a highly skilled communicator, Natasha understands how to find a balance between data driven insights and emotional intelligence in order to create messaging that connects to the customer.

In her free time, Natasha loves to get out into the great outdoors with her children and particularly enjoys packing up and heading for the seaside. Natasha is also a keen host and goes all out to entertain friends and family at her regular themed parties.

Our Advisory Board helps develop our strategic thinking and provides a balance of facilitation, stimulation and external advice.

Helen Mason

General Counsel

As a solicitor with more than 20 years of experience, Helen has a highly specialised skillset as well as a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry. During her career, Helen has worked both in-house and in private practice, which has given her a unique insight into the sector.

Since joining the team in 2014, Helen has been instrumental in ensuring that the business continues to grow at pace and that it develops in a way that is sustainable in the long term. 

Outside of work, Helen is a keen motorcyclist and runner and completed a 10k for Cancer Research earlier this year, raising an incredible £1,500. When she’s not out on the roads, Helen can be found indulging her passion for home decor with one of her favourite interior magazines.

Jonathan Wilkinson

Internet of Things Consultant

With extensive experience in the energy sector, Jonathan plays a key role in the design, build and delivery of our smart technology solutions. Having run his own business for a number of years, Jonathan has an in-depth understanding of operations and an ability to create digital systems that are truly integrated and add tangible value.

Jonathan’s work in energy management has instilled in him a passion for the environment.   Reducing carbon emissions and plastic waste are important causes to him and inform many of his decisions both at work and at home.

When he’s not working on a project, you are likely to find Jonathan out walking in the Peak District with his family, enjoying a meal out with friends or ticking off a destination from his travel bucket list.

Mathew Baxter

Group Chief Executive, echelon

Having founded echelon in 2005, Matthew has over 25 years of experience in the development and delivery of asset management within the affordable housing sector. As a result, Mathew brings a wealth of hands-on experience as well as a passion for technology’s role in improving housing maintenance to the goldeni advisory board.

In addition to an in-depth understanding of client needs, Mathew has an unrivalled knowledge of the challenges that face the housing industry today. This makes him perfectly placed to consult on innovative strategies that will allow goldeni to maintain housing and buildings in ground-breaking new ways.

Mathew is also a motorsport enthusiast and is the title sponsor of a motorcycle racing team. He is a keen traveller and particularly enjoys taking road trips in different countries around the world.
